Welcome to the Sunshine State!

We moved to Lakeland, FL last month. The city of Lakeland is not too big and not too small. It's perfectly spread out to give that small town feel without being in a small town. We live on the outer part of the city more in the rural area.

This is the complex our townhome is in.

Our home is on that large main lake in the center.

As you can see from the picture it's very sunny and very green. The weather has been beautiful so far and it's very peaceful. Almost like the world slows down.

I have taken it upon myself to use my free time to become good at things I know how to do and learn to do things I haven't tried yet. I have been cooking a home-cooked meal every evening(but we'll save that for another blog). AJ and I planted a semi-garden....we are going to grown our own tomatoes, jalepenos, and strawberries.

These will be flowers....I'll blog when they bloom. They are Forget-Me-Nots....and Dahlias.
